MRT services in the western part of Singapore were disrupted on Monday evening after a man was hit by a train at the Queenstown station . The Singapore Civil Defence Force, which was alerted by an emergency call, found a man in his early 40s lying on the track below the last carriage. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at around 8.40pm.
An SMRT spokesperson said that, during the incident, all west-bound trains were turned around at Outram Park MRT Station and some east-bound trains were turned around at Jurong East MRT Station.
Police said they received the call at 8.20pm informing them that a person was hit by an incoming train at Queenstown MRTQueenstown MRT . They are currently investigating the unnatural death.
Normal west-bound train service resumed at about 9.15 pm.
