WE ARE FAMILY therefore is a film that is going to create history for nothing else but for the fact that film makers have sought official permission from the original filmmaker to adapt the story line for Indian audience. WE ARE FAMILY is adaption from super successful movie of late eighties STEPMOM wherein Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts had played the role of a life time.
Karan Johar needs to be applauded for the monumental step that he has taken while making WE ARE FAMILY. He had the option to be smug and brazen and copy the content, as it is the wont of Hindi cinema, and blissfully become smug about the fact that such kind of film existed in the past from which he has been inspired.
